Do you have enough hay to cover the equivalent of a large US State in area? And up to a meaningful depth? Is there technology to retrieve oil soaked hay from the same area?
It's a great idea but it simply doesn't scale.
Had the same conversation with some dipshit who said he heard "Rush Limbaugh said they could use corn cobs, but the environmental whackos won't let anyone know about it!"
I asked where there was enough corn cobs to cover, at the moment, 46,055 square miles, and how they could be distributed over the same area of open ocean?
He stared at me blankly like I just shocked him with electricity. This is what pop politics & science does to your brain kids.
