^^ Maybe you missed my point so I'll boil it down before I seriously need to get work done.
Civil Rights Act was a great thing. The debate now is if it's time to lift the mandated laws regarding equality and say, 'we're fully equal.' Mind you, I'm not really for this yet. But the point is that as long as there are laws mandating our equality then we're still saying that, 'we're not equal, we need a law to be equal.' Get the difference? I'm not confused by the Affirmative Action btw, and I'm not sure how you ended up with that conclusion.
Imagine if your parents we're required by law to give you a present every Friday. Then imagine if your parent just gave you a present every Friday because they wanted to. Yeah? See the mental difference? I know this is pretty flimsy, just trying to get to the point of this because I think there is merit in stepping back those laws at some point and really giving minorities the equality they deserve.

- This is an ideal that will not happen in reality, sadly. We want everyone to treat each other well, but...luckyorphan
