My birthday kind of sucked yesterday. A client was getting negative feedback on the drastic identity redesign I just finished (I take comfort knowing that it was really only because of the distinct change), and I had to field some responses in defense of the design. On the homefront, I wasn't expecting a party or anything, as there's nothing special about turning 31, but it turned out to be a total non-event. My wife forgot to give me a card. My son was a complete basket-case last night, lasting through this morning. He's the word's pickiest eater and his hunger was waking him up throughout the night. My wife and I couldn't even have a decent conversation over our hastily-thrown-together dinner.
I'm very thankful for the cash I received from family, but this means I'm buying all of my own presents this year, which is a bit of a downer. The one tangible thing I did get was some delicious Fraoch Heather Ale from my brother.
Sorry for the mopes. Just had to write all that down. Feel better already.
