I hate to point this out, but FTP is as insecure on OSX as it is on a PC. Any computer user worth their salt would know this before deciding to connecting to ANY servers by FTP. A user worth their salt would know that the software is not to blame, merely the protocol itself, and they would wisely use sFTP.
Obviously you should not be allowed anywhere near a server (since it's proven you're not responsible enough to handle 'options'), and should probably consider getting some training before you continue on this career path...
- I thought he meant the FTP client itself leaked the passwords?detritus
- ALL ftp clients leak passwords. That's my point.********
- Unless you tunnel through SSH - sFTP.********
- FTP is like email - naked in transit.********
- I meant that the virus-a-ma-jig perused the client's list of bookmarks, then reported home with that info.detritus
