Actually, there is tremendous growth in the popluarity of bands with Christians in them, that are targeting the mainstream audience. I believe many people are growing weary of the message of hopelessness that many of the popular bands seem to convey. In contrast, there are a few excellent bands that are gaining popularity because they make great music and bring an "alternative" message to the pale of mainstream "rock".
