for temporary living check the apartments on fillmore nearby safeway. rent is like 1400 for a studio and you are in a building (might not be advisable if you are worried about earthquakes). you'll have to PM me for the name of the complex. you'd be super close to japantown. safeway is right across from the street. 15 minutes from union square by bus. and fillmore has good food. lotta people i met were there for 6 months lease til they found a more suitable living spot.
