The 20mm is nice, but not as sharp as the 24mm f2.8. Of course, the 24mm is not as wide as the 20mm, but if you're used to the 50mm, you might find the 24mm is wide enough. Walk into a camera shop and try them both on before you buy.
Also, Ken Rockwell isn't the worst reviewer out there, but he often praises or critiques products based on his needs instead of writing unbiased reviews.
