Talk about the dawn of the industrial age .. the transitions that society when through as we moved from a society where communities consumed the food and products they produced themselves, to a society where producers and consumers were separated.
Use examples to show how the requirements of industrialisation created social change back when factory-based production was a new thing - and move on to provide your own assessment of the way that current new media technology is creating change now, at the beginning of the digital age.
Highlight what could go 'right' as well as what could go 'wrong'. Play futurologist.
