what are you trying to record exactly, that lynda site sells a lot of tools. mostly crap you could learn on your on and find on the net. if your looking for audio style apps, look no further than Sonic Foundry, now Sony, at http://www.sonicfoundry.com their tools are the best, both PC and Mac.
