I'd go to the landlord about it if he's got aggressive to you. Smoking in a property brings the value down enough to make the landlord concerned (maybe). If nothing gets done then I'd consider moving out. It means you're 'letting him win' as it were, but you get to move somewhere that isn't hostile and inconsiderate.
