  Flash and Adobe are two different entities. Just because people see less hope for Flash in the long run, many tools in Adobe's list of software that has become outdated in the past from Director, Pagemaker, Dimensions. Even if Flash becomes this plugin best suited for desktop only, Adobe will still stand on its own to deliver creative tools.

  In fact, even if Flash doesn't maintain it's cross-platform and cross-browser market. It might still make a good prototyping tool (CS5). It's still the tool to use to make CD-ROMs.
