ukit, the second we can start distributing our own browsers and find people who would actually use them, I will agree 100%.
I know you are smart enough to realize that the lowest common denominater rules good development, and while I agree there are major issues with the player, I DON'T belive that an influx of alternatives would improve things one bit! The illusion of choice when it comes to browsers is a hard pedistal to stand on when you consider real projects, and dev cycles, sure, the user has choices, but as a dev worth their salt, you don't.
