I'd like to thank the collective asshat contingent on this site to send me back to my bookshelf to reread Adam Smith, David Ricardo and Karl Marx. You know, the collective trifecta of classic economic thought, before all this nonsensical neo-classical economic shell game started up about 35 odd years ago.

And in conclusion, you guys are all arguing on a Kramer/CNBC level - in other words in a real fucking narrow band, without a fucking thought to capitalism as a human designed system, originally conceived in fits and starts as an alternative to address the inherent flaws and suppositions in feudalism, the markets relationship to the state, then through the various phases of colonialism, industrialism, trade (protected and free), and ultimately to finance capitalism with a floating global currency system.

No, but do go on arguing about whatever the Tea Party thinks economics is. It's fun to watch.

We had a decent civilizational shot at something cool here, but if you can't see feudalism sneaking back in, your missing the picture.

After years of experience in the Politics thread I don't expect much here.

"...you think you're so clever and classless and free,
But you're still fucking peasents as far as I can see."
