friday night i took girl 2 to an indian pow wow, where we listened to drums under the stars and ate native food (indian tacos and frybread!). romantic stuff.i came back on saturday with girl 1; we listened to some cracker-ass indians weeping for "their" people during the storytelling bit, saw some more authentic dancing. had lunch in a real teepee!
over those two days i got:
• a couple of beaded headbands and bracelets
• a turtle-shell pouch, a bone choker
• a chest piece made of buffalo bone and glass trade beads, deer hide and hoof, horse mane, buffalo hair, and muskrat skull. it was made by a native american woman and her grandmother
• stuff for the girls (a flask, jewelry, bags, etc)while grocery shopping i discovered trader joe's carries balvenie doublewood 12 year scotch which i knew was highly recommended by the folks here, so i picked up a bottle.
sunday girl 1 and i rode our bicycles to baskin-robbins and shared a banana split.
later i signed up at sugarDVD.com and told her she could be in charge of the rental queue. she spent the next couple hours excitedly adding over a hundred movies ("ooh! they have carolina jones and the temple of poon!") while i smoked blunts, drank whiskey and listened to cheesy records (i extended this weekend's western theme by playing "home on the range")
- no offense,
but that girl looks FANTASTIC
georgesIII - Yes, she's quite delicious.********
