for lukus_W, digital watercolour (or watercolor) illustration exists and can be of worse, equal or better quality than traditional but all comes down to the client's level of understanding of 'digital' and whether they're happy with an intangible piece of art vs. something they can literally hold in their hands. some older clients still want to hold what cost them the cash and seem to think that any digital schenanigans are actually of less value cause you simply 'photoshop' them (or 'painter' them if they read a different magazine on the toilet once that made them the self-described expert they are).

    some quick examples:

    • Good argument. There only being one 'original' will always separate traditional and digital though won't it?MrT
    • digital = impersonal because it relies on mass duplication ("preservation")ismith
    • what happens when every HD dies with that file on it?ismith
    • you make a new one and then pay more to replace all those drives than to recreate the artworkismith
    • mind explodes*airey
    • i just made note cause i think lukus_W is as smart a bieber: http://www.youtube.c…airey
    • Hmmm.. maybe - but I think water colour requires water .. I'm not a luddite but I think fluidity isn't attainable via digital.lukus_W
    • The medium's restrictions really define the results - you can't get the same restrictions if you're not using paint.lukus_W
