i have an opportunity on my plate to be lead designer to design director of the entire brand for one of my major current competitors.
this is a very established company, that was recently purchased by an even larger established company.. the owning company is the goal in my career for this product demographic.. but the job is for a very well liked brand, but one i personally do not identify with.
i know i can do the job, but i know i am not the perfect candidate, bit to get into the face of the parent company is really hard considering they are not located near nyc.. but they do have design offices in nyc for this brand that they recently purchased..
i am currently the head of design for a nice sports brand and i work on my own schedule out of my house as i dont have to goto the office.. but for this new gig i would have to leave my fun fun lifestyle for the office environment.. and i just turned down a very nice offer for luxury branded design as i would had to have been on site.. im so lost but i sent my resume in this early morning..
also everything i just developed in the last 2 months is being manufactured this week and by this weekend i will see my first sample protos and make my comments and then possible fly to china to make it happen.. we want the product in the stores by august 2010.. oi its been a hectic last few weeks and i want to keep this momentum with a stronger brand..
