I agree with PonyBoy that Mexico is in a sad state of affairs, however I would argue that the people migrating across our borders aren't competing for the same jobs our vast number of unemployed workers are. Do you want to work in the fields picking vegetables for below minimum wage? And the drugs? C'mon man, why do you think they bring them here? Because sadly we love our drugs and it's only since the fall of the Columbian cartels in the 90's that the Mexican cartels have really expanded to fill the void. I understand why Arizona passed the law - it's a knee-jerk reaction to the growing drug violence that claimed the life of a very prominent rancher as well as the continued failure of the federal government to secure our borders. I just think it's a bad law that is missing the bigger picture of what is really going on with illegal immigration. Just my 2 cents.
