I love OSX, but nothing else about Apple or their products. When I buy computers and devices, I want to be buying an electronic device that I own and have dominion over, not a means by which to exercise my Terms of Use Agreement. I'm glad Apple makes getting software easy, but if I want to install something they don't approve of on the device I purchased, there should be no penalty. It's really hard for me to come up with a more accurate analogy to Apple's business plan than facism.
A walled garden is nice, as long as you're willing to stay on the paths. I'll be buying PCs in the future, because Apple's ideology is not the one I want to be the de facto.
