    I think this spill is a great test case for those who say the government should take its hands completely off the economy because private companies will always be able to accomplish things faster and more efficiently.

    Here we have something where the government was not involved and one of the world's largest, most capable private companies had a chance to clean up the spill entirely on their own.

    How'd they do?

    "So far, the company’s failure to stop the seepage from the underwater well has frustrated government officials. On Thursday, President Obama offered the assistance of an array of government agencies, including the military, while noting that, under federal law, “BP is ultimately responsible for funding the cost of response and cleanup operations.”

    Looks like a heck of a job.
