I'm not sure what the problem is either.

If you were categorised as disabled - why shouldn't you see that as a positive thing?

Calling a disability a 'win' is a positive statement - there's not reason that a disability should be seen as blight or problem. Viewing disability positively probably reflects the way that most successful people with disabilities feel about themselves. It also challenges negative assumptions.

The term 'disabled' traditionally has negative connotations; if you think about it, in reality we're actually all 'differently-abled' .. no-one can do everything - but it's a universally used word.

Asking if readers are 'differently-abled' wouldn't really get the message across. It's pretty shitty copy - but that seems to be standard fare for job adverts.

In terms of positive discrimination - I don't see a problem with it.

There are most likely a lot of challenges to getting jobs in the media, for people who are classified as disabled. Most of these probably relate to the perception of other people, rather than challenges presented by their accessibility requirements.

If a work programme allows people in the industry to put their prejudices aside (by getting them to work with 'talented, disabled' people they might have otherwise not encountered), why would that be a bad thing?
