    I don't know if it necessarily has to be something gothic. You could find something else that has a bit of spikiness to it but isn't tied too closely to a single historical period, since the use of armor in warfare spans many centuries and cultures. Something w/ unbracketed serifs would work.

    Pair with a sharp geometric sans like Verlag or Futura for the spikiness win.
