The fact of the matter is that CS5 will probably make you less efficient (ironically) as you have to resave all your files back back to CS4/3 anyway unless they upgrade the whole studio. All the additional features will probably not transfer correctly to the older software.
The printer that receives your job will normally be a version or two behind you.
It's a bummer but hey thats the reality of it.
- +1 for "The printer..." We recently had an issue of a designer using a "Multiply" effect...ideaist
- She had an image on top of a colour box and used the effect that didn't translate to press...ideaist
- Needless to say, a shit storm followed because the image turned out to be a solid bar of colour...ideaist
- More features = less fundamentals...ideaist
