"do you think cops are just going to start pulling folks over cuz they look Hispanic? You're nuts if you think that."

Well call me nuts then, cause I think that is exactly the point. Let's put this in perspective, I see a bunch of Hispanic guys hanging out on the corner near where my office is almost every day. They stand on this one corner and wait until a guy drives up in a truck offering some of them work.

I guarantee you a bunch of these cats are here illegally. The cops probably suspect that as well, but what can they do? Cops don't have the right to stop you based on nothing more than the way you look - until now.

There's a twisted kind of logic at work here - yes, it will result in more illegals being detained, but at the same time it's absolutely founded in racial profiling and racism. And you are giving the cop virtually unlimited power there, because the criteria are so murky.

But this is totally the wrong way to do it. Any law enforcement problem can be "solved" by giving the cops more power, but it's a fuckin slippery slope my friend. A slippery fuckin slope.

Also keep in mind this bill was written by the same AZ Congress that passed a law requiring all candidates to prove they were born in the U.S....hmmm wonder what that was all about. No racial motive there I'm sure.
