The screen size isn't necessarily a plus point. I have 16" and 13" laptops and pretty much always find myself on my 13" simply for it's portability.
I've never owned a Mac but 600quid more for inferior (on paper anyway) hardware seems ridiculous. Unless you're completely Windows go for the Vaio.
The fact you're asking Windows or Mac would imply you're easy-going on which OS you'd be using, so it'd really just come down to spec.
If you're comfortable with Windows 7, get the Vaio and spend the remaining 600 on something else. Maybe, to show you're not neglecting Apple, buy an iPad with the leftovers?
