A nickel is what they offered the injuns shortly before they shot 'em and took their cornfields.
When the remainder of the Lewis + Clark expedition finally made it to the Pacific, they almost starved to death because there wasn't any red meat available .
Place was crawling with salmon and other nutritious wildness, but NOOO, they had to have their rump roast.
I can't decide whether to laugh at that, or to bow down to the will power.
