    Yeah, but the iPad is going to work. People are going to love it, and digital content creators will love it even more (because IP can be sold successfully).

    I'd be willing to bet that they'll be more classes of device produced which use the same 'App Store' model / closed-system in the future.

    Anyway, I've made my points as best as I can ;)

    Hopefully I am just being totally reactionary and over-the-top. I guess time will tell.
