“I think it is a complete disaster for him,” said a prominent Republican strategist who is not working for any potential 2012 candidate. “It was a difficult issue for him last time, but what he had going for him is that no one cared about the issue — health care reform was way down the list among Republican primary voters. Now it will not only not be an also-ran issue in the primary but right upfront and arguably one of the top issues.”
