What has killed his reputation in the UK was his 90s series The Naked Chef, he tried to come off as a geezer but is through and through posh. Also featured him having loads of fake riends who are clearly jobbing actors just dropping by for completely laid back indie dinners with the boys. It pissed a lot of people off to the extent that him completely changing the standards of food eaten by children in the UK at school has made little dent in his reputation as a 'right cunt'. His last 2 books are great.
