I'm kinda stuck on Gov. Christie's budget in NJ...
Would the conservatives on this thread agree with his proposals? Is it really ethical to add significant stress to the poor and disadvantaged in order to prevent more taxes to the rich?
I don't understand the fundamental idea of applying fiscal pressure to the educational system, for instance, while avoiding pressure to the wealthy. Is it not best to suggest that, when your country and/or state is in jeopardy, it is better to tell the rich that it's time to not be as rich, and take the hit?
That seems to be the jist of his budget.
That being said, I do believe that, in any fair society, there should be compromise. I'm just a little surprised by the lopsidedness of this.
