    I agree with Fallow, it doesn't look smooth. Maybe redraw the central line of the object and create a brush with a <> profile to it. Illustrator will handle the tangents and beziers properly then. This looks made by eye - Some of the bezier handles aren't long enough and they don't correspond to the opposite side of the shape.
