    I moved from downtown Oakland six months ago. I didn't mind parts about it, but if you can get a place in the city, do it. Same with the Tenderloin... although its actually much safer than a lot of Oakland, its still a` gross part of the city. North Oakland and Berkeley are awesome to visit, but if you are going to be working in the city... you want to be in the city.
