ride them both and decide. how it feels is mostly what matters. and there's nothing wrong with a prefab, sure they skimp on parts a bit, but it'll take you at least 5+ years to wear anything out (short of tires) and then you can just replace the parts at that point. if you're in a lot of traffic, a more head-up riding position and relaxed geometry may be safer for you, especially if you're not a really experienced rider. aluminum tends to be stiffer, you feel the bumps a bit more, steel has a bit more flex to it. I think you should expand your options a bit beyond those two models though and try some others out.
