I'm quite happy so far with this book report... I've always avoided writing as it's always made me monumentally insecure to have my words read (odd as it is not this way with visual arts or analysis, even in realms of shall we say "lesser talent"). Part of it I think is my approach, something I refused to consider in the same way I did music, art, or whatever else. I keep reminding myself to write for ME, not my teachers, parents, or whoever else. I am very critical of others' writing as a reader and there's no reason why I can't translate that into formulating my own ideas the way I would like to read them. Obviously I'm not going to wake up one morning and be the next Georges Perec, but it's certainly an encouraging breakthrough.
