I would do something like:
setInterVal loop and slice() to write each character of a string [taken from an Array, and starting from the first one], while deleting every last character until the first one of the previous selection [actually writing everything all over, each time]. Then put the textFiedNew+TextFieldOld until the all thing's finished...
