  'the end of the world' 2012 is hype. the Mayans never predicted anything as far as a I know they just had a calender that ended then relative to our calender. I might be wrong. its the START of new era either way you look at it, so its symbolic and not a total disaster. Its like self referential awareness, higher level consciousness on a mass social scale and its already started, Mayan prophesies are apart of it, so is the return of Christ.
