Define "forcing" one's view on children, please. I ask because I have yet to see a parent of any religious or irreligious persuasion who does not teach ideas about spirituality and morality to their children in whatever ways seem best to them.

To refrain from teaching children what one believes is not giving them freedom. It's being negligent. Without any sort of spiritual guidance, they'll flounder.

It's possible to teach a child what you think is best about life, the universe, and everything—all while training them to think for themselves rather than to accept everything without question.

BTW I haven't seen this movie, so I have nothing to offer on any of its pros or cons.

    • but children are very impressionable. teaching them to think for themselves is fine and desirable but they'll end up being heavily shaped by what the parent's religious leaning are no matter whatspifflink

    • Yeah, I think that's a given. They're heavily influenced by what we believe or don't believe.gramme
