I thought they were all getting voted out anyway according to you cnaps. So why not pass the bill if that's the case?
One thing a lot of people seem to miss here is that the House and the Senate actually both already passed the health care reform bill. The House voted sometime in early December I believe, and the Senate bill passed at the end of the month.
The only issue is passing certain revisions to the bill so that the House accepts the Senate version. Those revisions would be the only thing needing to be passed through reconciliation, the rest is already a done deal.
