    I just ordered Manufacturing Consent by Edward Herman and Noam Chomsky on the subject of mass media, propaganda, etc (one of many related works between the two of them). I'm excited because it's the Vintage published version but that's irrelevant to your topic. I suppose it doesn't help that they both are of Jewish descent (no idea what their practice is, if any) except that they would at least appear to be opposed to the predicament described in the article you linked.
