After putting this one aside for many years I am currently listening to The Bends all the way through. I can almost feel the ripped fabric of old headphones on my ears and the half-busted cassette player clutched in my left hand sitting in the back seat of an empty school bus with rain tapping the foggy glass and inching in traffic towards the daily prison. No license. And no friends with cars. I think John Mayer is working at the Mobil station down the road and he doesn't know he's going to be famous. But Christian Long knows his older brother Justin is going to be famous and I think it annoys the hell out of him. I might go catch my friend's punk band downtown and trade some zines. That's one venue where we're safe from the uber entitled kids. And if I don't crash at a friend's place tonight I'll probably end up on AOL downloading apps that generate fake credit card numbers. I can probably do that and catch an episode of The State. Bummer about Kids in the Hall getting canned. I wonder if Dave Grohl's band will suck. I wonder if life will suck.
Ah... first-world problems.
