ROFL at Flash dying because Apple doesn't support it.. These are some of the funniest things i've heard from quite a few people. Makes me chuckle every time.
First:
The only real danger to Flash as a plugin is HTML5/Canvas/NativeClient and that's waaaaaay out there in the future because companies can't agree on ton of things.Second:
The incredible amount of money and digital assets went into companies that rely on Flash platform to deliver video, live streaming, 3d interactive stuff, promos, marketing campaigns (Banners, widgets etc) and a ton of other things. Let's not forget Flex, AIR, Flash Interactive Media Server and other things Adobe develops that rely on Flash Player. To think that Flash will just die and everyone will somehow switch over to something else because Apple has a piece of the market is pretty silly.
But let's say HTML5 video/CSS3/Native CLient and all that jazz indeed roots out Flash Player as a plugin (which is going to be a looooooong process considering 98% of people has Flash player already, all browsers support it and about 75% of online websites use it), Adobe will simply continue producing their development tools and support AS3 or AS4 and just build in the compilers that will translate that code and classes to native code of the client (whatever that may be).
I am an Adobe Partner and I've been using Flash CS5 for a while now. Building applications in AS3 and just hitting Publish to .ipa and seeing that application run on iPhone is a thing of beauty.
With Open Screen Project which is supported by over 50 top tech and consumer companies Flash will be on every mobile and other devices (except Apple of course).
It is more likely that Apple will be forced in the end to allow Flash than other way around.
Just my 2 cents.
