That engadget video is way too amateurish to even start talking about all things done wrong in it.
You won't get good audio unless you put the mic close to your sound source thus putting any kind of mic on top of any camera is BAD decision. So if the OP's concern is good audio... then know that it doesn't come with the camcorder. You will need extra lav mic and a boommic on a boom.
