I have a 7d but work with a lot of video and animation. So far my experience with the 7d is great but the major draw backs are the sound which sucks, an alternate sound recording device is highly advised. Also, the camera just does not do very well with either auto focus or quick movements from the camera itself (zooms, fast pivots, etc.)
The pluses however is that with a fairly low level of skill you will get good looking pictures and video with little adjusting. Also what i really like is that it makes the quicktimes for you as single clips on your card without having to cut anything up and no raw conversion
