I'm not the expert by any means, but I think an HD camcorder is best suited for your needs. The 7D's video might "look" great, but that's probably because of the lens and such. My understanding is that even though they shoot video, these digital cameras don't function quite like camcorders yet. From the way it auto-focuses to the way you use the files, it's just a whole different thing. If you already have a good digital SLR, go get a decent HD camcorder instead of another camera.
