Yes, the Strokes got thrown into the limelight in part because they had money backing them.
But that money doesn't change their slack talent of writing incredibly catchy lazy rock.
No, they don't play searing guitar solos. In fact, they're almost comically lazy and goofy sounding - but its endearing.
and i would recommend seeing The White Stripes live before talking about them not having enough 'sound'.
I saw them in Seattle (before they blew up and played some terrible larger venue with bad sound)
I had no idea two people could make so much noise.
His guitar was SEARING.
He jumped in and out of songs like nothing - and wailed on his solos.My favs are Jack the Ripper and Jolene
I hope they play a different venue next time around.
