"'cause they so desparetly want to be like the blues."I think Jack White does a pretty good job pulling off what it is they do, which is not something that you see, well, no other band I can think of doing that that's getting airplay these days.
The Strokes, however, are part of a large group of bands playing music influenced by many of the same bands from the 70s.It's not a slight to them, but i don't see how you can say it's sad (what the White Stripes do) when you consider they're rather unique as opposed to the Strokes, who are not.
