Let's face it, the real problem is the Senate. They (and I include some but not all of the Democrats in this) are a bunch of corrupt elitists who have pretty much sidelined any actual reform from getting through.
The House actually passed a decent health care bill. By the time the Senate got through with it, it was pretty much the same plan Mitt Romney implemented in MA (in other words, industry friendly with a mandate to buy insurance and no PO). Maybe it's better than the status quo, maybe not, but it's hard to say it's the best policy we could get.
