@ sigg you are assuming too much.
i am not siding with sony. i wanted raimi to make the movie. i loved what he did so far outside of the last flick. spider-man to me is my greatest idol. weather its on paper in the books or on tv as in cartoons or in movies i live for spider-man equally.
that said, in terms of raimi holding down his own to make the movie he sees fit is fine, but to constantly cling to this old man villain who doesnt fit in today's current technological climate or the old character itself which raimi didnt want to update was a major sore for sony, marvel and its fans.
if you also read the books, Ultimate Spider-Man, which is marvel's greatest title has peter parker as a teenager. which i hope is the direction sony is choosing in its revamp of the franchise.
i never seen twilight or know of its history, so i dont know the connection you are trying to make. you arent making sense on that part. i feel that if sony or marvel wants to make a spider-man movie, they need to fit it towards that younger audience as the market for it is needed.
i like sam raimi, i didnt like tobey mcguire. never felt he was right pick for the role. but it was hwat it was, i still will always the books.
i hope that cleared it up for you.
