I've been strictly plasma... Panasonic. I've owned a 42" and now a 50". Burn-in happens to both and plasma's have fixed the major issue they had when they first came out. Now... pause your movie or game and walk away for 20-30 minutes and you'll get some burn-in... but that goes for both technologies.
Not sure why everyone is upselling LCDs... both work great. IMO, when I compare at stores, plasmas always seem a bit warmer and, on Panasonics, the blacks are near perfect.
It's all about what you want to use it for. I lvoe my tv... especially while viewing HD movies. ;)
- Plasmas have worse burn-inmonospaced
- Like I said... I've owned two... never an issue with burn-in. I think using it as an excuse is a bit lame.rainman
- Worse burn-in... if you pause something for a day or 2 straight. If you do that, you're retarded.ETM
- Also, an image after 20-30 minutes is called retention, not burn-in. It goes away.ETM
- And even so, 20-30 mins seems low. You watch a letter box movie for 2 hrs and I see no retention.ETM
- I stand corrected and agree with everything ETM wrote.rainman
- Damn straight! :DETM
