When I first moved to SF, I would hear chains, groans, whimpers, thuds and all kinds of weird noises upstairs. It sounded like a torture chamber. I didn't know whether to call the cops or try to ignore it... He eventually invited me up to look at his gay s&m photography which was pretty scary to me at the time.
