People don't really think too much about energy consumption. Screen uses a lot more electricity than print; but of course print produces a lot more physical waste. I've seen varying reports on the subject, but it seems to me that it's more or less a wash as far as sustainability goes.
Speaking for myself, I've been kept fairly busy in recent months doing apx. 70% print design.
- print uses alot of electricy! from printing each CMYK color from huge print presses to the distribution of the print pieces from car to truck and then at some point it becomes useless.********
- Still less electricity than screen-based work. Think about traffic.gramme
